Frequently Asked Questions
What are your session fees?
Sessions are priced at £50 per 50 minutes, payable prior to each session.
You can opt to pay ahead in blocks of 4 or 6, or pay as you go.
How many sessions do I need?
This is entirely flexible and not something you have to know or decide straight away. During your initial session (complimentary 20 minute phone or Zoom call), we can assess a suitable timeframe estimate if that is something that might benefit you. I recognise that long-term therapy is a large commitment and isn’t financially accessible to everyone. I am happy to accommodate to whatever your preferences, whether this is one single session to clear your mind on a specific topic, or long-term therapy with space to explore situations more deeply, or any time frame in between.
What age clients do you work with?
I work with clients of any age from 11+.
Can I bring anyone with me?
I’m qualified to offer individual counselling, which is typically delivered on a 1:1 basis. Due to the very personal nature of counselling, I strongly recommend clients attend alone and benefit from the privacy in which to be vulnerable and access emotions that might typically be masked even in front of our closest friends and family. I understand, however, it is not uncommon for some, especially younger clients, to wish to bring a loved one into their sessions for comfort and moral support. If this is the case, I welcome this for the first 50 minute session to allow you to familiarise yourself with the counselling set-up and environment in the way that is most comfortable for you. Beyond that, however, sessions are for the individual client only.

What is your confidentiality policy?
Confidentiality is one of the most important elements of counselling and is a pillar of the BACP ethical framework. Anything you share with me during your sessions will be kept completely confidential, meaning I will not share your details with anyone outside the therapy room.
I attend regular supervision, in which I discuss my case load with my supervisor in order to ensure I am working effectively and ethically. However, no identifiable details are shared, keeping each case anonymous.
Outside of this, the only reason I would ever need to break confidentiality is if anything is shared with me that concerns the safety of yourself or anybody else. In this instance, my duty of care means I would need to pass this information on to relevant bodies. This can be explained further in your initial session, or if you have any questions around this, please do ask.
